TEHRAN (IQNA) – It has been said that every day is Ashura and every place is Karbala. But what does it mean?

Every Day Is Day of Ashura, Every Place Is Karbala

Speaking in a series of sessions on Ashura, Dr Mohsen Esmaeili has elaborated on different aspects of the event of Ashura.

In the third session, he said that the sentence “every day is Ashura and every place is Karbala” is not a Hadith but it contains discernment and wisdom.

He said it means that each of us, anywhere in this large earth we live, and at any moment that we breathe, are in our own Karbala. We, too, anywhere we are and at any time, are at a crossroads where we should decide whether we will join the army of Imam Hussein (AS) and follow the truth or, God forbidden, go to the army of Omar Saad and assist the oppressors and unjust-doers.
