TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony was held in the Gaza Strip to honor the memorizers of the entire Quran.

The ceremony, which included a march by the Quran memorizers, was organized on Saturday, according to Akhbar Quds website.

There were children, teenagers and youths among those who were honored for learning the entire Quran by heart.

Despite the years-long blockade of the Gaza Strip and several wars imposed on the coastal enclave by the Zionist regime, Quranic activities, including Quranic courses, competitions and other programs, are very common there.

The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.

Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorized the Quran since the first day it was revealed.

The Quran has 30 Juzes (parts), 114 Surahs (chapters) and 6,236 verses.
