“Quran influences the individuals’ morality and education. Despite allocating several hours a day to review Quranic verses, I have obtained many achievements in my education,” Tabbakhi told IQNA after arriving in hometown in East Azerbaijan province.
The Iranian memorizer won the title of Croatia’s 27th edition of International Quran competition last week and returned to Iran on Sunday.
Lauding the top level of the event in Croatia, Tabbakhi said that representatives from 35 countries had taken part in the event which was a close competition.
“I started committing Quran to memory when I was 9 and it took two years to memorize the entire Quran,” he noted, naming his interest in Quran and its teachings as the main force behind memorization.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Tabbakhi pointed to the high potentials of Quranic talents in East Azarbaijan Province, calling on authorities to prepare the ground for participation of these talents in national and international events.
He also revealed his intention to establish especial Quranic classes to train youths.
The competition was organized by Croatia’s Muslim Affairs Organization in cooperation with Qatar’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry, the Islamic Society of Zagreb and the secretariat of the European Competitions on Memorization and Recitation of the Quran.
The annual contest was not held last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In the 26th edition, organized in 2019, Iran’s representatives came first and second in the recitation and memorization categories respectively.
