Fifty-three participants, comprising 40 male and 13 female, are competing in the Quranic event.
The competition is the starting point and forms on avenue for Al-Quran readers in the country to advance to the final as well as regional and international stages.
Due to COVID-19 control measures, the competition will be held in a closed hall with the presence of participants on a scheduled basis in addition to complying with the health guidelines issued by the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, the ceremony to announce the results and the presentation of gifts and souvenirs to the participants and judges of the Al-Quran reading will be held on November 25.
In allowing the public the opportunity to follow the competition, the committee will broadcast the event live for three days through the official Instagram account of the Ministry of Religious Affairs @kheu.brunei and on radio through the Nur Islam FM, Radio Brunei.
Meanwhile, the announcement of results and presentation of gifts and souvenirs will also be broadcast live on Nur Islam FM.
It is hoped that this competition will be a starting point to advance and further develop Al-Quran reading and further encourage the community towards literacy in Al- Quran.
