Iran Envoy, Lebanese Bishop Discuss Cultural Cooperation

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Iranian envoy and a Christian bishop met and held talks on issues of mutual interest, including cultural cooperation.

 

Iran's cultural attache in Lebanon Abbas Khameyar met with Boulos Abdel Sater, Curial bishop of the Maronite Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch.

The sides discussed issues related to interfaith dialogue as well as ways to enhance cultural cooperation.

congratulating the new year, Khameyar expressed readiness to expand cultural cooperation with Lebanese Christians.

He lauded the works created by some Christian thinkers about Ahl al-Bayt (AS), noting that the cultural office intends to gather all these in a comprehensive work,

There is a need for conducting deep research on these works, he stressed.

For his part, Abdel Sater pointed to historic relations between Iran and Lebanon, noting that the Lebanese people are proud of these ties.

The Iranian envoy invited the Christian leader to pay a visit to Iran and become more familiar with Christian sites and churches inside the country.

Both sides highlighted the need to increase such meetings to boost the culture of dialogue and the integrity of monotheistic religions with the aim of neutralizing enemies' plots.
