“Experience has shown that we cannot be absent in any government,” Nasrallah said in a meeting with members of the movement, al-Akhbar.com reported.
He added that participation of the movement in government and parliament is necessary in order for supporting the resistance.
It is necessary even if “the cabinet and its head are opposed to us”.
He said the election is a significant political battle ground whose outcome determines the fate of other battle grounds.
The Hezbollah chief also called for massive participation of people in the country’s upcoming polls.
During the two-hour meeting, Nasrallah also elaborated on the reasons why Hezbollah entered the parliamentary race in 1992 and the government in 2005.
Lebanon’s 2022 general election is scheduled to be held on May 15.
The country has been mired in a deep financial crisis since late 2019, which has caused the Lebanese pound to lose around 90 percent of its value to the dollar and led its banking system to collapse.
