TEHRAN (IQNA) – An IT expert says Islamic and cultural centers will need the new virtual world of Metaverse in near future.

The recently introduced Metaverse is known as the next generation of the virtual world. Although its impact on the real world is yet to be seen, experts and fans are eager to discuss its different aspects. One of the areas that can be active in the Metaverse is certainly the realm of religion.

One of the booths in the 17th Quran exhibition in Iran’s Isfahan was dubbed “Quran and Metaverse”, launched by “Action Programming Group”.

“Cultural and religious centers such as mosques and Hussainiyas are among what will be added to this world,” Alireza Talebi, head of this booth, told IQNA.

“For users to be able to use the Quran inside such centers, copies of the Quran should be turned into NFTs,” he said.

“As a first step, the required virtual lands and other equipment should be bought,” he said, noting that people can help establish such virtual centers by their donations.

Negotiations have already been made to launch a Hussainiya and a cultural center under the name of Imam Reza (AS) in the Metaverse, he said, adding that efforts are also underway to prepare other required equipment such as copies of the Quran, supplication books, and other cultural products.
