TEHRAN (IQNA) – A host of religious scholars from Nepal visited the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, northeast Iran.

The delegation met and held talks with the international deputy of Scientific and Cultural Organization on the verge of celebrations for birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS).

Hoj. Seyyed Mohammad Zolfaghari welcomed the Nepalese delegation in a meeting held in the international deputy office, stating that their first visit to the holy shrine was a good opportunity to get familiar with Imam Reza’s life and conduct.

Hoj. Zolfaghari also pointed to representatives consigned by Imam Reza (AS) to different provinces and territories, eastern ones in particular, stressing his crucial role in spreading Islam throughout East and Southeast Asia.

He further enumerated various Quranic activities underway in the holy shrine on provincial, national, and international scales, and called the entire organization exemplary in realization of civilization-making conduct of the holy Prophet (pbuh).

The international deputy of Scientific and Cultural Organization mentioned some of the undeniable ethos of Imam Reza (AS), which made his holy shrine in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad a safe haven for a great number of Shia Muslims from across the globe. “The pilgrims visit a place whose walls are sacred since angels are frequently here.”

He concluded his remarks by speaking about different sobriquets of Imam Reza (AS): “One of his nicknames is ‘Anis al-Nofous’ (accommodating), which means the Imam warmly connects to the souls of pilgrims.”
