Mexican Pilot Embraces Islam in Turkey
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A pilot from Mexico converted to Islam in a ceremony in Turkey.
The ceremony where Hugo Gutierrez embraced Islam was held in the city of Izmit, 100 km east of Istanbul, tr.agency website reported.
He recited the Shahada to become a Muslim.
A single honest recitation of the Shahadah in Arabic is all that is required for a person to become a Muslim.
The Shahadah is the Muslim declaration of belief in the oneness of Allah and acceptance of Muhammad (PBUH) as God's prophet.
The city’s Dar al-Ifta hosted the event, in which the Mufti of Izmit gifted the Mexican man a copy of the Hoy Quran and a book on the stories of prophets translated into the Spanish language.
The ceremony was held after Hugo learned about the teachings and rituals of Islam.
He plans to marry a Turkish Muslim girl he met in Kuwait City some time ago.
They will hold their wedding ceremony in Mexico a few weeks from now.
