Support for Israeli Crimes Proof that US Attaches No Importance to Human Rights
Masoud Shajareh made the remark in a conference held in Tehran on Sunday on the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s views about American human rights.
He said the United States, since its very foundation, has violated human rights, citing the crimes committed against Indian Americans, slavery, systemic racism, the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War Two, killing of civilians in Vietnam, Latin America, Iraq and Afghanistan, and widespread sanctions imposed on different countries as only some examples of these crimes.
He said these crimes clearly show how catastrophic the American view of humans and human rights can be.
Shajareh added that rectifying this situation would be in the interest of the people of the world and even the American people.
Also addressing the conference, which was attended by a number of scholars, thinkers and officials, was Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani, who described sanctions and terrorism as the two main pillars of American human rights.
He said without these two, the US would no longer be able to continue is domination.
Bagheri Kani added that the United States has committed the biggest violation of human rights by politicizing the issue of human rights.
It can be asserted without a doubt that there is no nation in the world today that has not experienced the bitter taste of American human rights, he stated.
Bagheri Kani went on to say that the basis of differences between Iran and the US is the Islamic Republic’s insistence on safeguarding human rights.
