TEHRAN (IQNA) – One of humanity’s main needs is getting married to reach calm and peace in life and the Holy Quran discusses the issue of marriage and family extensively from different aspects.

Quranic Attaches Importance to Marriage, Family

Marriage is a sacred and divine union between husband and wife that is formed based on humanity’s divine Fitra (nature) and on the order of God, the Almighty, who said in verse 54 of Surah Al-Furqan: “And it is He who created the human from water and gave him kindred of blood and of marriage. Your Lord is the Powerful.”

Emotional, sexual and psychological needs are involved in marriage, which is a kind of psychological and personality development for everyone.

God in the Holy Quran provides the best definition of marriage: “His creating spouses for you out of yourselves so that you might take comfort in them and His creating love and mercy among you. In this there is evidence (of the truth) for the people who (carefully) think.” (Surah Ar-Rum, verse 21)

Married life usually begins with sexual desire as a main component but it does not stop there and gradually leads to a profound mental, emotional, economic, and social bond between the two.

Marriage is very important in everyone’s life because it unites two people in many aspects and lays the foundation for the future of the children who come to this world as a result of it. That is why marriage is considered sacred in different nations and cultures.

Overall, marriage creates amity and intimacy between two people who were unrelated before so that they become companions, support one another in the face of hardships and difficulties and together set the ground for their own and the society’s growth.
