Iranian Pres. Felicitates Birthday of Jesus to Pope Francis

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi congratulated the birthday of Jesus as well as the new year to Pope Francis.

In a message to Pope Francis, the leader of the world's Catholics, the President congratulated him and all followers of Christianity on the arrival of the birthday of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and the beginning of the year 2023.

In his New Year's message, Raeisi referred to the verses of the Holy Quran in Surah Maryam about the exalted position of Jesus Christ in the Quran.

Pointing to Jesus' words about empathy and true freedom, and expressed hope that in the new year, with the help of the precious teachings of divine prophets including Jesus Christ and perseverance in the path of divine values, human happiness will be realized and a world full of justice and empathy will be created among nations.
