Members of Iran Quranic Community Pay Tribute to Martyr Soleimani

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A delegation from Iran’s Quranic community visited the tomb of Martyr Qassem Soleimani in the southern city of Kerman to pay tribute to the senior commander ahead of the anniversary of his martyrdom.

The delegation includes a number of Quranic officials, including secretary of the Council for Development of Quranic Culture, head of the Iranian Academics Quranic Organization, deputy head of the Supreme Council of Quran, and head of the Basij Dar-ol-Quran Center.

They arrived in Kerman on Saturday and visited the tomb of the martyr and recited Fatiha.

Meanwhile a Quranic convoy on Thursday started a trip to different cities such as Yazd, Kashan, Ardakan, Shahrekord, and Kerman to hold Quranic circles in commemoration of Martyr Soleimani.    

A number of top qaris and Quranic figures like Mehdi Gholamnejad, Hamid Reza Ahmadivafa and Ahmad Abolqassemi are in the convoy. 

The convoy attended a Quranic circle in the hometown of Martyr Soleimani on Saturday, with the qaris reciting verses from the Holy Book.

Lt. General Soleimani, who was the commander of the IRGC Quds Force, Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Deputy Commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3, 2020.

The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassinations, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of then US president Donald Trump.

Various programs are planned to be organized in Iran, Iraq and a number of other countries to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of General Soleimani, al-Muhandis and their comrades.
