The Imam Hussein (AS) Center in Tyre hosted the event ahead of the third anniversary of the commanders’ martyrdom.

It was attended by religious figures like Sheikh Ali Arif and Hajj Bilal Daghir as well as a number of Hezbollah officials.

Several qaris, including Abdul Rahman al-Khouli from Egypt and Mohammad Ghalmoush from Lebanon, recited verses from the Holy Quran at the memorial service.

It also featured speeches by a number of Hezbollah martyrs’ children and screening of a video clip about General Soleimani.

Lt. General Soleimani, who was the commander of the IRGC Quds Force, Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Deputy Commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3, 2020.

The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassinations, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of then US president Donald Trump.

Various programs are planned to be organized in Iran, Iraq and a number of other countries to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of General Soleimani, al-Muhandis and their comrades.
