TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Holy Quran and Sunnah Foundation in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates, organized a ceremony to honor memorizers of the Holy Quran.

During the event, which was held at the foundation’s headquarters, 96 boys and girls were lauded for their Quranic achievement, Akhbar Ajman website reported.

They were among 689 individuals who had managed to learn the entire Quran by heart, starting the memorization of the Holy Book in 2020 and 2021, according to the report.

The 96 memorizers who were awarded had also met the conditions set by a special committee of the foundation.

The ceremony is annually held by the foundation to encourage boys and girls to embark on memorization of the Quran and to enhance their Quranic skills.

The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.

Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorized the Quran since the first day it was revealed.

The Quran has 30 Juzes (parts), 114 Surahs (chapters) and 6,236 verses.
