Iran, Lebanon Discuss Cultural Coop. to Confront Enemies’ ‘media war’
The topic was discussed during a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday between head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour and Lebanese Minister of Culture Mohammad Wissam El-Mortada
The Lebanese official is in Tehran to attend an event to commemorate the media martyrs of the axis of resistance.
“Today, resistance has become a global trend,” Imanipour said, urging for increased cooperation in the cultural aspects of resistance.
“If we manage to give awareness to the public opinion, resistance will naturally take form but this requires the art of promotion,” he added.
He also proposed holding a week of resistance movies in both countries.
For his part, El-Mortada said his body is trying to confront the propaganda waged by the enemy.
“We should build up media cooperation in the face of this common challenge because the enemy has concluded that it can draw no result from violence and arms,” he said.
He noted that the enemy is waging an economic and media war on Lebanon.
The “great battle” that both countries should prepare for is the war on raising people’s awareness, he said, adding that this required increased bilateral cooperation.
