TEHRAN (IQNA) – There is a reference to the notion of “Divine light” in Du’a al-Sahar also known as Du’a al-Baha.

Various supplications or Du’as are recommended for Muslims to recite in pre-dawns during the blessed month of Ramadan. One of them is Du’a al-Sahar ascribed to Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, the fifth Shia Imam and reported by Imam Reza, the eighth Shia Imam. It has been mentioned in Mafatih al-Jinan.

Every section of the supplication has three sentences. In one of the sections we read: “O Allah, I beseech You to give me from Your light that enlightens.” Then it says: “and all Your enlightenments are luminously bright.” And in the third sentence it says: “O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your lights.”

The first sentence focuses on the loftiest level of God’s light and then it is noted that God’s Light can be found in all the universe and every creature.

Divine light is inclusive so, a believer sees this light everywhere, whether in the sun or in a small animal because both have been created by God.

Humans should not limit their minds and hearts to a specific light; God’s light can be found in any plant, sea, desert, and creature.

A believer has this viewpoint about the universe.
