TEHRAN (IQNA) – According to the supplication of the seventh day of Ramadan, we should ask God to help us with our prayers and fasting.

According to the supplication dedicated to this day, we read: “Allah on this day, help me with its fasts and prayers, and keep me away from mistakes and sins of the day, grant me that I remember you and continue through the day, by your assistance, O the Guide of those who stray.”

Message 1: God’s help with fasting and prayers

If God helps us, hunger and tiredness will not irritate us. Asking for God’s help does not mean that we sit in a corner and wait for God’s action, rather, we should prepare the grounds. There will be no success without our own efforts.

“Those who struggle in Our cause, We will surely guide them to Our ways; and Allah is with those who do good,” reads verse 69 of Surah Al-Ankabut. Meanwhile, Imam Reza (AS) said once: “Whoever asks God for success and does not strive, he has mocked himself.”

Message 2: Staying away from sins

According to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), everyone should have three things on the Day of Resurrection: 1) righteousness that keeps him away from sins 2) patience that he uses against the ignorant and 3) good behavior with people.

Message 3: Requesting durable remembrance

According to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), God loves durable deeds the most. Meanwhile, verse 36 of Surah Az-Zukhruf reads: “To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion.”

Message 4: God’s assistance

The word “tawfiq” means facilitation. God’s tawfiq facilitates the inclination of people toward good deeds, their move on the path of God, their understanding of knowledge, and their implementation of deeds.

“For him that gives and fears (Allah) and believes in the finest, We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing.” (Surah Al-Lail, verses 5-7)
