TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quranic circle is planned to be organized in the holy city of Mashhad, northeast Iran, with the participation of two internationally acclaimed qaris.

Ali Reza Bijani from Iran and Ahmed Shahat Ahmed from Egypt will recite verses from the Holy Book at the program, Saeed Khadivi, the cultural deputy of the Khorasan Razavi branch of Iran’s Academic Center for Education, Culture, and Research (ACECR) told IQNA.

Slated for Sunday, April 9, it will be organized on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of IQNA, which is affiliated to the ACECR, he noted.

The program will also be addressed by Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Hosseini Motlaq, head of the Leader’s representative office at Khorasan Razavi branch of the Islamic Azad University, Kahdivi added.

The International Quran News Agency (IQNA) is the first and only specialized Quran news agency in the Islamic world.

It was inaugurated on the 15th of Ramadan, 1424, (November 11, 2003) during a ceremony attended by the then president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The news agency started its activity by publishing 7 news data-x-items in Persian every day and now, 19 years on, with the blessings of God, is publishing 500 daily news data-x-items in over 15 languages, and the total number of the news data-x-items so far produced has exceeded four million.

During the holy month of Ramadan, top Egyptian qaris travel to different countries to recite the Holy Quran.
