TEHRAN (IQNA) – Divine miracles are among prominent signs that help people distinguish true from false prophets. One of the miracles of the Holy Quran is related to the number some words that have been repeated in the holy book.

Numbers can provide us with new insights into the miracle of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). What follows are just a few of them:

  1. The word “yaum” [day] has been repeated 365 times in the Quran which equals the number of days in a year.
  2. The words “shahr” [month] and “sa’ah” [hour] have been given 12 and 24 times in the book.
  3. The words “donya” [world] and “akhirah” [hereafter] have been mentioned equally.
  4. There are equal references to words “rajul” [man] and “mar’a” [woman].
  5. The words “iman” [faith] and its derivatives and “elm” [knowledge] and its derivatives have been mentioned equally.
  6. There are equal references to words “shaytan” [satan] and “mala’ikah” [angels].
  7. The words “maut” [death] and its derivatives and “hayat” [life] and its derivatives have been mentioned equally.
  8. There are equal references to words “noor” [light] and “zolomat” [darkness].

This discussion aims to give a brief overview of prophets and hence will not deeply discuss the miraculous aspects of the holy Quran as those interested can find more content on the issue with a simple search.
