OSLO (IQNA) – An anti-Islam group has reportedly burnt a copy of the Muslim Holy book, the Quran, in the Norwegian capital of Oslo.

Members of an extremist group, dubbed SIAN, have launched a fresh attack against Islamic sanctities in front of the country’s Parliament on Monday, local media outlets reported.

Protected by the police, the participants insulted the Quran and the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The group had also carried out similar acts of desecration in the past years.

The fresh desecration comes as two other Nordic countries of Sweden and Denmark have been in the spotlight in recent weeks following numerous events in which extremist elements desecrated Muslim sanctities while being protected by governments under the guise of the so-called freedom of expression.

Muslim states have strongly slammed the acts as “provocative”, urging the European governments to prevent similar events and stop the wave of hatred against Islam and its followers.
