Salah Is Key to Acceptance of All Acts of Worship
On the Resurrection Day, there will be many conversations between the people of paradise and those in hell. According to the Quran, one of the conversations will be like this:
The people of paradise ask the other group, “What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)? They will reply: ‘We were not among those who prayed’.” (Verses 42-43 of Surah Al-Muddaththir)
In order to realize its significant, suffice it to know that, according to Hadiths, Salah is the key to acceptance of all acts of worship.
In other words, if one’s Salah is accepted, so are his other acts of worship and if it is rejected, so are his other acts of worship.
It is like when a traffic police officers asks for your driver’s license. No other ID card or document is accepted as long as you do not have a driver’s license. It is the permission for driving and without it, no other document will give the permission.
On the Resurrection Day, the permission to cross the Sirat Bridge is having performed Salah. If your Salah is accepted, you can cross it and if it is rejected, no other act of worship will be accepted.
