Imam Reza Shrine Plans Daily Tarteel Sessions Following Fajr Prayers

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Imam Reza shrine has planned to run daily sessions of Tarteel recitation of the Quran with the presence of national and international Quran reciters.

The daily session is held every day following the Fajr prayer at Imam Khomeini Grand Portico of Imam Reza holy shrine.

Mohammad Javad Panahi, Reza Golshahi, and Hashem Roghani are among the reciters who participate in the ceremony followed by some lessons on Quranic teachings offered by several religious experts including Hojat-ol-Islam Yaghoubi, Hojat-ol-Islam Tavallaei, and Hojat-ol-Islam Davoudi. 

This daily ceremony which is held by the holy shrine’s Quran Center aims to promote knowledge and insight of pilgrims.

 The Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad is a sacred and magnificent complex that houses the tomb of Imam Reza, the eighth Imam of the Shia Muslims. Imam Reza was martyred in 818 CE by the order of the Abbasid caliph al-Ma'mun. The shrine has been expanded and renovated over the centuries by various rulers and dynasties, and now covers an area of over 598,000 square meters, making it the largest mosque in the world by area.

The shrine consists of several courtyards, minarets, domes, museums, libraries, seminaries, and other buildings. The shrine attracts millions of pilgrims every year, especially during the months of Muharram and Safar.
