IQNA – Omar Mohamed Abdul Hamid al-Bahrawi is a young Egyptian qari who is known as an emerging Quranic talent in the country.

Al-Bahrawi, who is a student at the faculty of religious sciences, came third in a recent Quran recitation competition in Egypt.  

His recitations have been received well in social media sites, according to Youm7 website.

He started learning the Quran by heart at the age of 3 and managed to become a memorizer of the entire Quran a few years later.

Al-Bahrawi’s father, who is also a memorizers of the entire Holy Book, encouraged him on the path of Quran memorization and recitation.

One of the young qari’s dreams is to be able to join the country’s iconic Quran Radio as a reciter.

He also wishes to travel to different countries for Quran recitation.

He also likes to listen to the recitations of contemporary qaris like Osama al-Hiwari, Mohammed Ali Hassan, and Mohammed Yahya al-Sharqawi.
