"These young voices will be chosen based on the rigorous standards and protocols upheld by Quran Radio," stated Gomaa, according to Egyptian media outlets.
The decision comes in the wake of an error made by Muhammad Al-Salkawi, an Egyptian qari, during a live recitation.
Following this incident, the Quran Radio has ceased collaboration with Al-Salkawi and, supported by the Union of Egyptian Reciters, has prohibited him from public recitations.

Recently, Radio Cairo declared that Sheikh Muhammad Al-Salkawi is barred from reciting the Quran at official events due to his recitation errors.
Sheikh Mohammad Hashad, leader of the Egyptian Reciters' Union, further confirmed that Al-Salkawi is suspended from reciting for one year. “Following his errors during a morning prayer recitation, we summoned Al-Salkawi for an inquiry at the union," Hashad explained.
Hashad also noted that, apart from the domestic ban, Al-Salkawi is restricted from reciting on radio and international media platforms, though he is permitted to make recordings. This measure is crucial to maintain the Quran's dignity and sanctity, he added.
