Al-Azhar’s affiliated institute’s department said the private sector should introduce centers for permission the meet certain preconditions, Dar al-Hilal website reported.
One of them is the need for at least 80 percent of the Quran learners of each center to pass Al-Azhar’s special examinations.
There are also engineering, building and health requirements.
The centers will be visited by the representatives’ of department to make sure that the conditions are met.

In the past, tradition Quran schools known as Maktabs were the main centers for teaching Quran to children and young adults in the country.
Egypt’s Awqaf ministry has in recent years taken various steps to organize these centers and improve their teaching methods.
