Following his electoral victory on July 5, Pezeshkian expressed his thanks to Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, for his congratulatory message.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently supported the resistance of the people in the region against the illegitimate Zionist regime,” Pezeshkian wrote in a Monday message.
“This support is deeply rooted in the fundamental policies of Iran, the ideals of Imam Khomeini, and the guidance of the Islamic Revolution Leader [Seyyed Ali Khamenei], and it will continue strongly,” he added.
He also expressed confidence that the resistance movements in the region will not allow the Israeli regime to continue its warmongering and criminal policies against oppressed Palestinians and other nations in the region.

Simultaneously, Ismail Haniyeh, leader of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement, extended his congratulations to Pezeshkian for his triumph in the presidential election and the orderly conduct of the voting process.
Pezeshkian secured the presidency with over 16 million votes, surpassing Saeed Jalili's 13 million, from a total of more than 30 million ballots.
The runoff election was a follow-up to the initial June 28 vote, prompted by the untimely deaths of President Ebrahim Raisi and others in a helicopter crash on May 19.
Initially competing against five candidates, Pezeshkian led the first round without achieving an outright majority, leading to a runoff with Jalili. Voter turnout for the runoff was reported to be approximately 50 percent.
