The explosion went off in Dasht Barchi District of Kabul on Sunday, killing one person and wounding 11 others.
According to Khaled Zadran, a spokesman for the Kabul Security Command, an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle exploded in the Dasht Barchi area.
He said security forces were immediately sent to the area and began an investigation.
Daesh later issued a statement, claiming responsibility for the terrorist incident, Ava news agency reported.
Nearly a month ago, Daesh had also claimed responsibility for another bomb blast in the Afghan capital city.
