IQNA – Divine Imdad (help) is a Sunnah that benefits all human beings, whether they are believers or unbelievers.

Praying for divine help

It is a blessing for everyone because of being a human not because of certain conduct or action.

The Sunnah of Imdad is among the divine Sunnahs mentioned in the Quran.

One of the examples of this Sunnah is setting a person on the path of guidance, growth and perfection.

So if a person is set on the path of guides, benefits from their guidance and from thought and reflection, and is led to the path of salvation, he has been blessed by the Sunnah of Imdad.

This Sunnah also sometimes specifically benefits the pious and righteous ones. This special Sunnah is used by people who submit to the word of God and obey the divine commandments.

According to the verses of the Quran, the Sunnah of Imdad is of two types: General and Special, with the first benefiting all people and the second benefiting only believers under special circumstances.

Following are some examples of special Imdad:

- Granting peace and calm to believers, as mentioned in Verse 18 of Surah Al-Fath: “Allah was pleased with the believers when they swore allegiance to you under the tree and He knew what was in their hearts. Therefore, He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with a victory close by.”

- Sending angels to help, as mentioned in Verse 26 of Surah At-Tawbah: “God gave confidence to His Messenger and the believers and helped them with an army which you could not see. God punished the unbelievers; this is the only recompense that the unbelievers deserve.”

- Making the number of believers look larger, as mentioned in Verse 13 of Surah Al Imran: “Indeed, there was a sign for you in the two armies which met on the battlefield. One was fighting in the way of Allah, and another unbelieving. They (the believers) saw with their eyes that they were twice their own number. Allah strengthens with His victory whom He will. Surely, in that there was a lesson for those possessed of eyes.”

- Making the number of unbelievers seem fewer in the battlefield, as mentioned in Verse 44 of Surah Al-Anfal: “When you met the pagans' army, God made them appear fewer in your eyes and you appear fewer in their eyes so that His miracle of granting you (an incredible) victory could easily be fulfilled. To God do all things return.”

- Casting fear into the heart of the enemy, as mentioned in Verse 151 of Surah Al Imran: “We will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. For that they have associated with Allah that which He did not send down for a proof. Fire shall be their home, evil indeed is the dwellingplace of the harmdoers.”
