After the 1947 occupation of Palestine, he returned to Egypt and went to the Cairo Radio to work there as a qari. They asked him to take a test to prove his mastery but he refused and never returned to the radio.

As a great reciter of the Quran, known throughout the Muslim world, he found it unacceptable to have to take a test to prove his skills.

After some time, he opened a coffee house where he would perform Quran recitations.

Alsendiony died on August 25, 1955.
