Special Programs at Mashhad Holy Shrine to Mark Martyrdom Anniversary of 11th Imam

IQNA – The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, northeast Iran, will host a number of special programs on Wednesday and Thursday to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan al-Askari (AS).

The Islamic Development Deputy of the holy shrine’s Astan (custodianship) is organizing the programs.

They will start with the recitation of the Aminallah Supplication on Wednesday evening after the Maghrib and Isha prayers.

Then there will the recitation of poems by Seyed Hossein Seyedi and a speech by Hojat-ol-Islam Jafar Eslamifar on the virtues and teachings of the 11th Imam (AS).

The Ziyarat Jamia Kabira will also be recited by Ahad Sabzi.

On Thursday, which is the 8th day of Rabi al-Awwal and marks the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan al-Askari (AS), there will be religious speeches, mourning rituals and the recitation of the Ziyarat of Imam Hassan al-Askari (AS).

A large number of pilgrims are expected to visit Imam Reza’s (AS) mausoleum today and tomorrow.

He is the 11th Shia Imam and the father of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his glad advent), the promised Savior.
