Leader Attends Ritual of Dusting Imam Reza Holy Shrine
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei attended the dusting ritual at the holy mausoleum in Mashhad, northeast Iran.
Also present were the custodian and servants of the Astan Quds Razvi as well as a number of scholars.
During the ritual, eulogists recited the Ziyarat Jamia Kabirah and Aminallah supplications.
There were also elegy recitations on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan al-Askari (AS).
On the sidelines of the event, the leader visited the tomb of Iran’s former president Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, who was martyred in a helicopter crash in May.
Imam Reza (AS) is the eighth Shia Imam, whose bloodline goes back to the Prophet of Islam. He holds a special position among Iranians, since he spent his last years of life in Iran, away from his birthplace in modern-day Saudi Arabia.
