IQNA – Baitul Quran is a Quran institute and museum in Indonesia in which many rare manuscripts of the Quran and Islamic texts are on display.  

Baitul Quran and the Museum of the Declaration of Independence in Indonesia

 

The handwritten copies are both from Indonesia and other countries. 

Among the major ones are the Mus’haf of Independence, the Wonosobo Mus’haf calligraphed by two seminary students from Central Java, the Sundawi Mus’haf which has a unique illumination, and the Malaysia Mus’haf.

Baitul Quran also showcases various Quran copies such as the one published based on the standards set by Indonesia’s religious affairs ministry and Quran copies in braille for the visually-impaired.

The building of Baitul Quran includes a convention hall, classrooms and an exhibition.

The Museum of The Declaration of Independence is another Islamic institution in Indonesia that showcases religious activities in the most populous Muslim country in the world.

It was launched in April 1997 by the then president of Indonesia Suharto.

Visitors can see the works of scholars and thinkers of Indonesia from 17th to 20th century that have historical and intellectual significance.

The cultural heritage of Indonesia in the fields of Islamic texts and Quran manuscripts, Islamic arts, and Islamic architecture are on display at the museum.
