Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, A Steadfast Backer of Resistance Front, Martyred

IQNA – Sources in Lebanon have confirmed the martyrdom of Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, a member of the Hezbollah resistance movement’s central council and a close aide to Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, the movement’s secretary general.

Both were martyred during an Israeli regime air raid on a Southern Beirut suburb on Friday.

Qaouk was a prominent personality in Lebanon and played a key role in Hezbollah.

He served in key posts in the movement for years and was influential in its confrontation with the Zionist regime.

Born in the village of Ebba in Lebanon’s Nabatieh Governorate, he studied political sciences at university and specialized in strategic affairs.

After joining Hezbollah, he played a major role in developing the strategy of resistance.

Thanks to Qaouk’s efforts, the capabilities of Hezbollah to tackle major challenges facing Lebanon and the region were enhanced.

He was known as a strong supporter of resistance not only in Lebanon but across the region.

He would emphasize the need for the resistance countries and groups to unite against the world arrogance and the expansionist policies of the Israeli regime and the US.

In his speeches, Qaouk would always refer to the strategic ties between Hezbollah, Iran, Syria and Palestinian resistance groups and describe this axis as an important factor in countering foreign threats.
