According to Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, the suspect is currently receiving mental health treatment at a hospital, and authorities plan to record his statement shortly, Bernama reported on Monday.
The police have launched an investigation under multiple legal provisions, including Section 298A of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
“The police detected a video, lasting 1 minute and 4 seconds, showing a man in a vehicle making remarks that insult the religion of Islam,” Rusdi stated in a press release.

Rusdi emphasized that the police view this incident as serious and are committed to taking firm action against any actions that threaten public order and national security.
He also advised the public to refrain from sharing the video further to prevent discomfort within the community.
