Charlie Woodall, 19, appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty to racially or religiously aggravated criminal damage, the Warrington Guardian reported on Wednesday.
Prosecutor Chris Howard stated that on May 13 last year, a representative from the mosque on Arpley Street reported to police that one of its windows had been broken.
Cheshire Police launched an appeal for information using CCTV footage, which ultimately led to Woodall’s arrest.

Upon searching his electronic devices, officers found messages confirming racial motivation behind the act. One message read: “I will smash a mosque to honour you.”
During questioning, Woodall admitted to being radicalized online and acknowledged the racial nature of his actions. He had no prior convictions.
His defense lawyer, Simon Dunn, said that Woodall “instantly regretted” his actions and had been influenced by others.
