Piran, an expert in Nasta’liq and Shekasteh Nasta’liq scripts, conducted the session as part of his visit to Pakistan, organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Hyderabad.
The event opened with a Quran recitation by Piran, leaving a profound impact on the audience.
Dignitaries including Arabella Bhutto, Vice Chancellor of the university; Fazl Elahi Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts; and Reza Parsa, Cultural Attaché and head of the Iranian Cultural Center in Hyderabad, attended the session.
Parsa expressed gratitude for the university’s collaboration, highlighting the cultural center’s activities and inviting talented students to apply for scholarships in Iran. “We aim to strengthen academic and cultural ties through such initiatives,” he noted.

Piran concluded the workshop by presenting a beautifully penned Shekasteh Nasta’liq rendition of “Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim” as a gift to the university. An exhibition of his calligraphy, including Quranic manuscripts, is also scheduled to be held at the university.
