Algeria’s Tlemcen Quran Contest to Start Thursday

IQNA – The fifth edition of the Tlemcen Quran competition will begin in the Algerian city tomorrow.

The competitions, organized by the Abdul Qadir Aloulah Cultural Center in collaboration with the Al-Amani Association of Tlemcen, will last for two days.

It will kick off after the Taraweeh (special Ramadan) prayers at the center’s amphitheater with the participation of male and female qaris from different provinces of the country.

The aim of holding the competition is to enhance efforts to serve the Book of God, encourage talents in recitation and Tajweed, and create a spiritual atmosphere during the month of Ramadan.

The Quranic event is an opportunity to showcase talented voices in Quran recitation and the abilities of young Quran enthusiasts.

It plays a significant role in strengthening the place of the Quran in the daily lives of Algerian citizens.

Winners will be announced and awarded at the closing ceremony on Friday.
