IQNA – Several countries across the world have officially announced that Sunday, March 30, 2025, will mark the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In the Persian Gulf region, Saudi Arabia declared Eid al-Fitr for Sunday following the confirmed sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon at the Tamir Observatory. Similarly, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait also announced that Eid will be observed on Sunday after validating the moon sighting.

Lebanon, Palestine, and Yemen have made similar announcements. The Mufti of al-Quds and the Palestinian Territories confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon, establishing Sunday as the first day of Eid in Palestine.

Russia has also declared Sunday as Eid al-Fitr, with the Cathedral Mosque in Moscow, operating under the Russian Government's Department of Muslim Affairs, confirming the date.

Additionally, Turkey announced that it will observe Eid al-Fitr on Sunday, relying on both astronomical calculations and the confirmed moon sighting.

As Muslims in these countries prepare to celebrate Eid, communities are organizing prayers and gatherings to mark the conclusion of the holy month of fasting.

Meanwhile, other countries including Iran, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Iraq, India, Syria, and Bangladesh have declared that Sunday will be the last day of Ramadan. These nations will celebrate Eid al-Fitr on Monday, March 31, following their respective moon sightings.
