Emirati University Inaugurates Quran Memorization Centers in Uganda, Kenya, and Comoros

IQNA – Al Qasimia University (AQU) has launched several Quran memorization schools in East Africa, with new centers opened in Uganda, Kenya, and the Comoros.

The initiative follows directives by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme Council Member, to expand Quranic education across the continent.

In Moroni, capital of the Comoros, AQU inaugurated the "Rifqa Knowledge School," named in memory of late university student Rifqa Yousef. The ceremony was attended by Juma Rashid Al Rumaithi, UAE Ambassador to the Comoros, along with local officials. The school includes a library with resources provided by the Kalimat Foundation.

Similar centers were opened in Nairobi, Kenya, and Kampala, Uganda.

The initiatives aim to support Quranic learning while strengthening cross-cultural dialogue and educational outreach, according to Emirates News Agency.
