Master Abaei passed away on April 9, 2025, at the age of 80, following a lifetime dedicated to the service and promotion of the Quran.

Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Hadi Qobadi, who used to serve as a Quranic manager in the 2000s, said the late Master Abaei was a prominent and well-known figure among the Quranic community.

“Since I took charge of the Quran department of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization in 2000, I found the opportunity to get acquainted with the master. I hardly know a person who is interested in the Quranic sciences and skills in the country and does not know this late master.”

He noted that Abaei was an international Quranic figure. “He had first and foremost a trusting relationship in various directions, especially in Quranic affairs with Iraq and the holy sites in the Arab country. Furthermore, due to his academic standing and strong presence at the head of the juries of international Quran competitions in Iran and several other countries, he became a more renowned global figure in the field of the Quran.”

Hojat-ol-Islam Qobadi emphasized that all countries involved in Quran competitions are familiar with Master Abaei and recognize him as a distinguished teacher.

He added that another important aspect was his moral character and good conduct.
