Iranian Memorizers Virtually Attend 1st Round of Libya Int’l Quran Contest

IQNA – Iran’s two representatives in the 13th international Quran competition of Libya participated virtually in the preliminary round of the contest.

Mojtaba Alirezalou is competing in the category of memorization of the entire Quran and Mohammad Javad Delfani is representing Iran in the category of memorization of the entire Quran along with mastery in the ten styles of recitation.

They virtually answered the questions of the panel of judges in the first round on Thursday.

Alirezalou was asked two questions and recited one page of the Quran while Delfani answered three questions.

Iran has no contestant in the category of memorization of the entire Quran along with Tafseer (interpretation).

The results of this round will be announced in the following days and those scoring the required points will make it to the finals, which will be held in person.  

The finals will take place in the North African country in the lunar Hijri month of Muharram (June-July).

Libya is a Muslim-majority country in North Africa where Quranic activities are very common.

It has more than a million Quran memorizers.
