IQNA – Toronto police are seeking two male suspects in connection with an incident last month in which a vehicle was extensively vandalized and marked with anti-Muslim slurs.

According to police, the incident occurred around 3:35 a.m. on April 26 in the vicinity of Steeles Avenue West and Martin Grove Road.

Officers responded to a call reporting property damage and discovered a parked vehicle that had been severely defaced, Global News reported on Tuesday.

Authorities stated that the vehicle had been marked with paint and etched with slurs targeting the Muslim community.

Footage captured by a camera installed on the vehicle showed two male individuals at the scene. One of the suspects was described as wearing a baseball cap, a surgical mask, and dark clothing. The second suspect reportedly had a moustache, was wearing sung lasses, and had on a red or orange jacket.

Police added that one of the suspects was carrying a sledgehammer during the act of vandalism.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigators are appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the suspects.

Hate-motivated crimes have drawn increased concern in Canada in recent months, specially following the start of the war between the Israeli regime and Hamas in Gaza.
