The plan, referred to as the largest Quranic activity along the Arbaeen pilgrims’ route, has been jointly launched by the Dar-ol-Quran of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine and the Iraqi Quranic Union.
More than 250 active Quranic institutions are participating in this project, being implemented in 250 Quranic stations in 12 Iraqi provinces.
According to Alaa Mohsen, head of the Dar al-Quran of the Astan, the first activities of this plan began in the southern Basra province and the Ras al-Bisheh region, with the slogan “From the sea to the river” to accompany pilgrims coming from southern Iraq to the holy city of Karbala.
He added that more than a thousand male and female Quran instructors are at these stations responsible for correcting the recitation of Surah Fatiha and other short Surahs of the Quran.
He said the Astan has participated in supporting this activity by donating more than 150,000 gifts to pilgrims and providing extensive logistical support, including posters, cards, and data-x-items related to the plan.
He went on to say that the national Quranic plan for Arbaeen is one of the most important Quranic activities in Iraq and is being implemented with the aim of spreading the Quranic culture among pilgrims and reminding them of the necessity of reciting the Quran correctly and teaching them how to pray.
The implementation of the plan will continue until the 18th day of the lunar Hijri month of Safar (August 12).
