IQNA – A Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Tahfiz Certification Program has been launched in Malaysia with the aim of developing future professional huffaz (Quran memorizers) with technical skills.

Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) launched the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Tahfiz Certification Program on September 27, 2025.

The Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) has organized the program, accredited by Darul Quran under the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM).

UniMAP Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zaliman Sauli officiated the program’s soft launch and parent briefing, held Saturday in conjunction with the 2025/2026 Undergraduate Orientation Week at the university’s Pauh Putra campus.

Speaking to reporters, Zaliman said the program’s initial implementation involves eight students from the Faculty of English type to start searching Electrical Engineering and Technology, the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Technology, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology.

“God willing, this program will be expanded in the coming years to enroll more students, producing technocrats, technologists, and engineers who are also skilled in the Quran,” he said.

He said the Tahfiz certification program modules were fully developed by Darul Quran, providing UniMAP students who are interested in or skilled at memorizing the Quran the opportunity to enroll.
