
The winners were announced by the secretariat of the contest on Monday morning before the closing ceremony, which is slated to be held in Sanandaj, Kordestan province, this afternoon.
According to the announcement, Ahmad Reza Zeydani from Qom, Mohammad Reza Jafarpour from Tehran, Mostafa Mohammadpour from Mazandaran, and Abdol Qoddus Hosseini from Kordestan came first in the categories of Quran recitation, memorization of the entire Quran, Adhan (call to prayers) and Tarteel in the men section, respectively.
In the women section, the top winners were Naziha Janami from Khuzestan, Zahra Khalili from Tehran, Atefeh Naseh from Gikan and Effat Abolzadeh from Khuzestan in the categories of Quran recitation, memorization of the entire Quran, Tarteel and recitation of supplications, respectively.
The final stage began in Sanandaj on October 16 with the participation of 330 male and female competitors in 10 categories, during which the men competed in the Fajr Hall and the women in the Suleiman Khater Hall of the city.
During the finals, the first International “Quran of Negel” Congress was held in Sanandaj last Monday with the participation of Kurdish-speaking qaris and memorizers from Iran, Turkey and Iraq.
On the sidelines of this competition, 120 Quran gatherings were held with the presence of 30 distinguished and international Quran reciters in different cities of Kordestan province, which, according to reports, were well received by Shia and Sunni audiences.
