Exhibition in Pakistan’s Rawalpindi Showcases Artworks about Quran, Prophet
The works have been created by Pakistani arts students, according to the public relations office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.
A number of officials, including the chief minister of Punjab, attended the opening ceremony.
Also present was Majid Moshki, Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Pakistan.
In an address he described calligraphy as a genuine Islamic and Iranian art.
Referring to some verses of the Holy Quran, he said the art of calligraphy is a sacred art.
He said that in the Quran, God has sworn by the pen and this shows the sanctity of the art of calligraphy.
Moshki expressed hope that this art will continue to grow in Pakistan and future generations can also benefit from it.
