
According to IKNA, citing, the 9th International Quran Memorization and Religious Supplication Competition
The closing ceremony of the contest was held at Abbasi Mosque in Port Said, Egypt, Monday afternoon (February 2) with the participation of Egyptian officials and a large number of scholars and religious and administrative officials, Al-Bawaba News reported.
The panel of judges named Ahmad Ali Youssef Saif from the host country as the winners of first place in the category of Quran memorization with two narrations, while Ibrahim Idris Ibrahim from Libya came in second and Jihad Miteb Al-Maliki from Saudi Arabia came in third.
In the category of good voices, Khaled Nasser Sabah from Egypt came first, while Murshed Salendab from the Philippines and Falah Zalif from Iraq won second and third places, respectively.
Also, the Ibtihal category witnessed the brilliance of Mohammed Yasser from Egypt, who won first place in this category, while Hamza Al-Qasimi from Morocco and Majd Ghamdan from Yemen won second and third places, respectively.

The competition had started in the Egyptian port city on January 31, with representatives from 30 countries participating in the international event.
There were a total 42 qaris, Quran memorizers and Ibtihal reciters vying for the top prizes.
This year’s contest was named after the late Egyptian reciter Sheikh Mahmoud Ali Al-Banna in honor of his lasting services to the Holy Quran.
