In a world that increasingly needs to build bridges of understanding through a peaceful and humane language based on shared values, Sarajevo hosted an intellectual dialogue at the Gazi Khosrow-Bey Library, according to the Muslimsaroundtheworld website.
The event was dedicated to discussing the Bosnian translation of the book “The Good Word: The Wisdom of the Quran and Hadith throughout the Year” by Hafiz Binyamin Idris. It was jointly organized by the Islamic Society of Sarajevo and Quba Publishing House and was attended by a significant cultural and general audience.
The program was part of an intellectual effort to present the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) from a global and human perspective. The author explained that the book is an intellectual and moral response to the repeated smear campaigns against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The work highlights the universal values of the Quran and Hadith that address humanity in general, avoiding controversy and emotional outbursts and employing a style that fosters mutual understanding, he noted.
Idris emphasized that the character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) remains largely unknown even to some Muslims. He noted that aspects related to ethics, the environment, human relations and interaction with non-Muslims are a universal message needed in the contemporary world, especially given the increase in negative rhetoric on social media.
The author noted that the original German version of the book was unveiled in a church, a symbolic gesture that emphasizes the universality of the prophetic message and shows that the values of Islam are not limited to religious boundaries, but address humanity everywhere.
He also announced the imminent publication of an English translation, which will expand its reach and strengthen its presence in non-Arabic-speaking environments.
Abdul Ghafar Velic, head of the Council of Imams of the Islamic Community in Sarajevo, emphasized that beauty is the essence of the divine message, citing the prophetic Hadith that links faith with love for beauty.

He considered uttering on kind words and doing good deeds to be a moral responsibility that every believer bears in his daily behavior, and that the responsibility of today’s religious discourse lies in reviving these values.
Fadil Maljoki, professor of Hadith at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Sarajevo, also praised the scholarly value of the book, explaining that it is a selected collection of Hadiths from reliable sources, chosen to highlight the universal moral and humanistic messages that an individual needs to be a righteous believer and useful in his society.
The book “The Good Word: The Wisdom of the Holy Quran and Hadith throughout the Year" is an educational and religious work that differs from traditional books of commentary, jurisprudence, and Seerah. It does not delve into scientific details or doctrinal differences, but rather focuses on the essence of the Islamic message through selected texts from the Holy Quran and Prophetic Hadiths, presented in a clear and understandable style with the aim of inner development.
The author has taken a practical approach and divided the content of the book into days of the year. Each day, the reader is presented with a text, followed by a brief explanation and practical guidance. This structure makes the book a daily companion for reflection and spiritual growth, and allows the reader to engage with its meanings gradually and seamlessly.
The book focuses on the core values that form the foundation of Islamic behavior, such as truthfulness, mercy, patience, good character, self-control, and kindness in dealing with others.
