
According to the Bahrain Detainee Affairs Organization, after the mourning ceremony for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Jawad (AS) was held, reports indicate an increase in tension between Bahraini security forces and Shia citizens.
There has been as a widespread summoning and arrest of citizens, reports say.
Bahraini authorities have summoned hundreds of Shia citizens to court for judicial investigation and interrogation since.
The head of a religious delegation in the Maqaba area is among those arrested after being summoned by security agencies.
Reports also indicate that despite the restrictions and the decision of the Bahraini ministry of interior to prohibit the holding of mourning groups outside of Husseiniyas and religious centers, groups of Shia citizens held ceremonies and move mourning groups outside these centers in some areas.
Bahraini officials have not released any details about the number of those arrested or the charges brought.

The developments come as the Bahraini government is pursuing a policy of repression of the Shia Muslims in the country.
